Produce
You are required to create an artwork to help inspire the local community to clean up their town. The artwork that you create needs to respond to the issue of reducing litter within your local community.
We have previously looked at Mosaic Portraits and Mixed Media Collage this term. You may wish to use one or both of these art forms to express your ideas or you can experiment with other styles. Before you create your own art piece you also need to investigate how artists have previously responded to this issue in at least three other places or times, and then how you can extend upon and develop the concept.

Visual Diary
When producing your art piece it is important to keep track of your ideas, influences and attempts. Using a visual diary is a great way to do this.
Within your visual diary you should include things such as:
Make sure you record your thoughts about the items you include in your visual diary. Write down what you like, dislike or find interesting.
- sketching,
- colour mixing
- previous versions of your artwork
- inspiration - artists or art work
- ideas
- etc

Blog
A second method you can use to created your visual diary is the use of a blog. This will allow you to take photos of your work and upload them with typed explainations. This will benefit students with a higher level of technological ability.
Below are two examples of our well known artists' blogs that show their journey of developing and designing their art pieces.
